Chandigarh 29 December 2025: The Third Virat Cup Table Tennis Tournament concluded successfully at the Table Tennis Hall, Sector 23, Chandigarh. The tournament was organized by retired IRS officer and table tennis enthusiast Virat Dutt Chaudhry, who also served as the Chairman of the event.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from players representing Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Punjab. Competitive matches were held across various age groups and categories, with players displaying high levels of skill, fitness, and exemplary sportsmanship.
In the Veteran 69+ Singles category, Gurpreet Singh secured first place, while P.C. Sardana finished as the runner-up. In the 59+ Singles category, Mukesh Mishra claimed the top position, followed by Harish Kakkar in second place. In the Men’s Singles Open category, Ankush Kapoor emerged as the winner, with Vikas Guleria securing second place.
In the Veteran Women’s category, Megha clinched first place, while Savita Dobhal finished as the runner-up. In the Women’s Singles Open category, Cherrish Chhabra secured first place, with Bhavani Kalia finishing second.
In the 59+ Men’s Doubles category, the pair of Sunil Manchanda and Sanjay Sharma claimed first place, while Jawahar Bhandari and M.P. Singh finished second. The Veteran 69+ Doubles title was won by Subhash Sharma and Gurpreet Singh, with P.C. Sardana and Ashok Sharma finishing as runners-up.
In the Lucky Doubles category, M.A. Khan and Harish Kakkar secured first place, while D.K. and Deepak Sharma finished second.
The tournament concluded with a felicitation ceremony, during which winners were presented with trophies, and all participants received special gifts as tokens of appreciation.
Chairman Virat Dutt Chaudhry expressed his sincere gratitude to all players, officials, and supporters for their enthusiastic participation. He emphasized that the success of the tournament reflects the growing popularity of table tennis and its promotion among veteran as well as open categories in the region.
