Himachali Culture Comes Alive at Nyunder-2026 Celebration

Chandigarh: The First Annual Festival Nyunder-2026, organised by the World Himachali Organization, was held with great enthusiasm at MCM DAV College, Sector 36, Chandigarh, showcasing the rich cultural heritage, folk traditions and unity of Himachal Pradesh. The grand cultural evening witnessed the participation of a large number of members from the Himachali community across the Tricity region and nearby areas.

Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Rajya Sabha MP Sikander Kumar was present as the Guest of Honour. Anurag Thakur appreciated the initiative of the World Himachali Organization and stated that such cultural festivals play an important role in preserving the rich heritage of Himachal Pradesh and inspiring the younger generation to stay connected with their roots.

The festival showcased the vibrant colours of Himachali culture through traditional performances, folk music and cultural programmes. Renowned folk singer Karnail Rana enthralled the audience with his popular Himachali folk songs, while energetic performances of Himachali Nati and Jhamakda dance forms added to the festive spirit. Visitors also enjoyed the specially arranged traditional Himachali feast, Dham. An exhibition depicting the glorious history, folk traditions and cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh wasi another major attraction of the event.

President Asha Jaswal said that the objective of the festival is to connect the youth with their roots, traditions and cultural values while strengthening the spirit of Himachali brotherhood. President Amit Rana stated that the organisation will continue to organise such programmes in the future to promote Himachali identity and culture at national and international levels.
